Robert Keoua Kalanikupuapaikalaninui Wilcox II (1919–1996) was related to the royal family of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Life

He was born April 12, 1919 in Honolulu, Oahu, son of Prince Robert Kalanikupuapaikalaninui Wilcox I of the House of Laanui, a collateral branch of the House of Kamehameha. His mother was his father's first wife, Helen Kaleipuanani Simerson Wilberton, daughter of William Kuakini Simerson, by his wife, Julia, née Andrews. His and his father's name, Keoua Kalanikupuapaikalaninui, states his and his family's descent from High Chief Keoua Kalanikupuapaikalaninui, the royal father of Kamehameha the Great and Kalokuokamaile, the great-great-great-great-grandfather of Robert. His descendants, unlike those of his sister Helen Kalokuokamaile Wilcox, retain their family surname Wilcox. He died December 14, 1996, aged 77.[1]

Marriage

He married first to Eleanor Kahoano, who was a descendent of the Kalama family who ruled the Oahu/Maui kingdom, one of the four kingdoms that existed before western contact. They had four children, Prince Robert Keeaumoku Wilcox, Prince Sherrill Wilcox, Princess Trudy Mae Wilcox Jones and Princess Katherine Wilcox. These were Robert's first children born in the 1940's. Eleanor had two more sons, Alvin Wilcox and Brian Johnson. After marrying her second husband, Delbert, Eleanor left her four children to be raised by her sister, Mary Kahoano Jacosalem. Robert's second wife was Martina Tamara Ahuna, born January 14, 1922. Prince Orson Guy Kiha'apiilani Wilcox and Princess Venetta Owana Kaohelelani Wilcox were their children born in the 1950's. His third marriage was to Betty Kim and with her, he had two daughters, who were Princess Adrienne Lee Wilcox, and Princess Tyrene Wilcox. Robert's fourth was Anita, with whom he had Princess Dalla Kaleipuanai Wilcox.
